A debate on 6TV went berserk and off the tangent with one Murthy, who appeared to be a YCP man as Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s photo was hanging from the wall behind him, passing irrelevant and personal remarks on a woman participant in the show.
The video posted on Twitter evoked criticism against the YCP leaders.
The woman, apparently belonging to one of the opposition parties, took exception to Murthy using indecent language like ‘mental’ and other words. Soon she asked Murthy if he had taken a crash course from minister Kodali Nani, who is popularly known as ‘Boothula minister’.
She said that she would not use abusive or indecent language how much ever Murthy provoked her.
It appeared like the woman had cornered the YCP leader and he felt trapped.
Unable to reply to her questions and in a bid to defend himself, Murthy asked if she was raped. This question put the woman to silence but the host of the show became alert and tried to stop Murthy from going ahead with his continuous talk.
The host of the debate kept on repeating ‘Murthy garu’ and tried to tell him that he should not display his arrogance and insult the other participant in the show. The TV anchor asked Murthy to be in control.
Finding that the debate has got derailed completely, the producers of the show muted Murthy and it was only then that the woman participating in the debate uttered a word.
The video posted on social media evoked hatred and censure from the Twitterati. While a TDP sympathizer said that somebody would have raped Murthy’s wife and that was the reason he was repeating the ‘r***’ word many times, one other netizen felt that the women associations should file a case against Murthy in the court.
One other netizen tagged YCP as ‘dongala party’ and added that the unfortunate thing was it was being supported by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In this context, it is worth mentioning that minister Kodali Nani said he would show his ‘viswaroopam’ to the TDP men, if he was stripped off his ministry during the cabinet expansion planned soon.
“In fact, I am being forced to keep my mouth under control as I represent the YCP government. If I can come out it, none can stop me.”
Probably, Kodali could have meant from using abusive language and expletives, pointed out senior politicians.
