The internal politics of YSRCP are becoming a big headache to CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Post cabinet reshuffle, the rivalry among the YSRCP leaders have come to the fore with each one trying to gain political muscle in the district.
Nellore district is one classic example as former Irrigation Minister and Urban MLA Anil Kumar Yadav is at loggerheads with Agricultural Minister, Nellore district party president and Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy. With both the leaders fighting openly, their feud has reached CM Jagan.
After Kakani is elevated as minister, his flexis were removed by Anil Kumar’s followers that mounted the tensions in Nellore. This aggravated the age-old political rivalry of Kakani vs Anil Kumar.
Kakani is supported by Anam family and other Reddy community leaders of the district whereas Anil Kumar’s supporters are raising strong voices.
CM Jagan called upon Anil Kumar Yadav today at the Tadepalli camp office to talk to him personally. Jagan is going to talk to both Anil and Kakani and may try to patch up. However, Anil Kumar’s team doesn’t want to budge as they’re deeply upset with Kakani’s camp who earlier allegedly rubbed them on the wrong side.
CM Jagan wants both Kakani and Anil to win the polls in the next general election in Nellore that was earlier clean swept by YSRCP. Former IT minister Mekapati Gautam Reddy had died suddenly due to cardiac arrest.
CM Jagan is yet to compensate Mekapati’s family. Mekapati’s supporters and followers were not satisfied. Amidst all this, CM Jagan’s meeting with Anil Kumar and Kakani has garnered a lot of significance. Will Jagan convince Anil Kumar to go slow on Kakani as it’s causing damage to the party ahead of polls needs to be seen.
