In the recent past AP CM Jagan’s decisions are mostly in view of the next elections and the reconstituted cabinet is the example. Now Jagan has stripped the powers of YCP’s mouthpiece Vijayasai Reddy from handling the party’s political affairs in UttarAndhra region most importantly of Vizag region.
With this decision, Jagan has checkmate the criticism and allegations pouring down from TDP leaders. Undoubtedly Vijayasai Reddy is a prominent leader in YCP and he led the party in the previous elections and he was instrumental in showing better results for YCP in the previous elections as coordinator of UttarAndhra region.
In last year’s corporation elections, Vijayasai Reddy had put full efforts for YCP and the results showed up as anticipated. But the good times did not last long because widespread allegations are popping up against Vijayasai Reddy. Especially on the mines and encroachment of lands, the accusations are rife and on the other hand, Vizag senior TDP leaders are ready to prove themselves with evidence.
Yet Jagan had some soft corner for Vijayasai Reddy and was reluctant to take action. But realising that the situation is running out of hand and things can get worse for the party, Jagan immediately swung into action and removed Vijayasai Reddy as coordinator for UttarAndhra region.
In place of Vijayasai Reddy, Jagan appointed his Babai YV Subba Reddy for UttarAndhra region while minister Peddireddy and MP Mithun Reddy were given charge of just 62 Assembly constituencies. But there was no mention about Vijayasai Reddy in the revamped party positions.
The reason being, many YCP leaders are said to be upset with Vijayasai Reddy that he is allegedly involved in land encroachments in Srikakulam, Vizag and Vizianagaram districts. Also many leaders are of the opinion that Vijayasai Reddy takes unilateral decisions without consulting the local leaders and cadre. It seems that CM Jagan has taken this decision after due consultation.
Ironically within YCP there are voices echoing that such Vijayasai Reddys are many in the party and an action should be taken on all of them. If such leaders are set aside, YCP has high chances of gaining the confidence of the people, opined the insiders.
