Despite huge disappointment among YCP MLAs, AP CM YS Jagan Reddy went ahead with the cabinet reshuffle. Now party seniors are widely discussing the internal affairs and very soon drastic changes are going to be witnessed within the party. As per the Tadepalli camp office sources, currently YCP has 56 advisors and sparing five, the rest of them are likely to be given a send off.
As soon as YCP formed the government in 2019, Jagan offered a position in the government to leaders who have helped the party in all sorts. Though Jagan never said he would remove the advisors, the current mood of Jagan is that he wants to remove the advisors and yet again utilise their services for the party in view of 2024 elections.
Apparently Jagan has grass-root knowledge of his government’s performance and he learned that winning the next elections is not a cake walk. At all odds Jagan wants favourable results for YCP in the next elections and by then he wants to mobilise the support especially of the NRIs which can change the impression on the party. It is against this backdrop that efforts are being made to make use of current advisors working in the state for party services in all levels.
Simultaneously Jagan is in thoughts to trim down the count of advisors from 56 to 30. Retaining five to eight old advisors, Jagan wants to induce fresh faces in the government. In recent times, advocates who are voicing their opinion in support of YCP in news channel debates, others from various walks of life are prospective of becoming the new advisors. Jagan is optimistic of such a decision, said the Tadepalli insiders.
