AP Home Minister’s Weird Explanation On Repalle Rape Crime

AP Home Minister Taneti Vanitha kind of made irresponsible remarks on the rape crime that took place in Repalle town of Baptla district. The other day a pregnant woman was allegedly gang-raped by three people, including a juvenile after beating up her husband.

Speaking on this crime, Home Minister Vanitha said the three accused were drunk. “They tried to rob the husband of the victim and then proceeded to assault the woman,” said the Home Minister and she accepted that there is a shortage of police personnel in the state.

“I will speak to CM Jagan on shortage of police personnel and will come to a decision. However, I would like to reiterate that the series of crimes in the state is not due to lack of police personnel,” said minister Vanitha. She rubbished the reports that the recent crimes led to push the ruling party’s drive of ‘Door-to-Door YCP’ campaign.

“We are yet to receive data from village secretariats regarding the welfare schemes and the families that are getting benefited. So we have postponed our drive but it will commence soon,” said Vanitha.
