The internal fighting within Telangana Congress always makes it to the headlines. Even for yesterday Rahul Gandhi’s meeting, Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy stayed away while his brother Venkat Reddy made it to the event.
This afternoon RaGa met about 300 T-Congress leaders in Gandhi Bhavan and a wide range of discussions took place. Sending out a strong warning to all the leaders, Rahul advised T-Congress to remain in the state and not to come to New Delhi for silly complaints. “Firstly our party needs unity. Leaders should avoid talking before the media and if there are any internal conflicts, resolve them within the party,” schooled Rahul.
On tickets, RaGa made key comments. “People who work for the party will be given the opportunity to contest the elections while people who do not work for the party will be snubbed. Only merit will be the deciding factor for tickets. Also every leader should leave Hyderabad and be with people of their respective constituencies. I understand that Hyderabadi biryani and chai are very tasty but don’t stick around in Hyderabad,” said Rahul.
The Congress leader further said that it’s time for us to start a journey towards establishing a Congress government in Telangana. We have granted the separate state while KCR has looted it. KCR has police, money and power with him but doesn’t have the people’s support. We need to take that.
Rahul predicted that the next elections in Telangana would be a fight between TRS and Congress. “Take the Warangal Farmers Declaration to the people and let every farmer in the state know what we are going to do to them once Congress forms government in Telangana. A collective fight will show better results for us,” added Rahul.
With RaGa’s words, the likes of V Hanumantha Rao, Jagga Reddy and Komatireddy brothers will certainly rethink before criticising T-PCC chief Revanth Reddy.
