TRS chief KCR has finalised the names for three vacant Rajya Sabha seats and one of them is AP CM YS Jagan Reddy’s friend Bandi Parthasarathi Reddy, who is also chairman of pharma company Hetero Group.
Vaddiraju Ravichandra and D Damodar Rao are the other two names proposed by KCR for the Upper House and they will be elected unopposed. However, there is a criticism that KCR has yet again betrayed the BCs, SCs and STs by snubbing to offer tickets.
In fact there is uproar against Parthasarathi Reddy because he was in news for IT raids where Rs 142 Crore unaccounted cash was seized and sleuths detected hidden money of Rs 550 Crore. He is also one of the accused in the quid pro quo case involving AP CM Jagan, being probed by the CBI since 2012.
But Parthasarathi Reddy had done hectic lobbying for the Rajya Sabha ticket. He used his influence and also met KCR a couple of times in Pragathi Bhavan. Thus Reddy managed to get a Rajya Sabha ticket.
This is interesting as the other day AP CM YS Jagan offered Rajya Sabha ticket to Telangana ex-MLA R Krishnaiah who also represents the BC community and now KCR picked up Parthasarathi who hails from Andhra.
