#Rushikonda: Supreme Court Setback For Jagan!

The Supreme Court of India suggested the AP government to sort out the Rushikonda tourism project with the AP High Court and this is a major setback for AP CM Jagan.

The apex court also informed the AP government that until the AP High Court pronounces its final verdict, no new construction would be allowed in Rushikonda.

However the Supreme Court found fault with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that issued a stay order on Rushikonda project and opined that the High Court is greater than Tribunals. YCP rebel MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju filed a fresh petition in connection with the Rushikonda tourism project and his advocate Balaji Srinivasan produced the latest photographs of the Rushikonda project to the Supreme Court.

Advocate Balaji informed the Supreme Court that there would be a huge ecological disturbance if stay orders of NGT are lifted. A bench comprising Justice BR Gavai and Justice Hima Kohli questioned advocate Abhishek Singhvi who represented the AP government on the photographs and complained that the greenery vanished.

The NGT formed a new committee on whether Rushikonda falls under the Coastal Regulatory Zone and the consequences upon clearing the hill. The Supreme Court stated that it would allow construction of resorts and stuff but not at the cost of damaging the surrounding environment and questioned AP government whether it would provide any assurance that it would not cause any harm to the Rushikonda atmosphere.
