The rape of 17 years old girl in a car in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills, has created a huge storm in the Telangana political circles. The girl accused four youngsters and two of them have connections with the ruling TRS party.
But shockingly this crime was reported on May 28th and the father of the victim approached the cops on May 31st. The police initially dodged to register a case being a high profile political one. As the news broke out, the police lodged the case under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 9 and 10 of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
The police arrested the accused in Hyderabad city outskirts and one of the accused is said to be the son of Waqf board chairman. The other accused in this rape is son of Bahadurpura MLA’s son Rahel Khan. There are also reports that the Telangana Home Minister’s grandson is also involved in this crime.
In a popular news channel debate, Home Minister’s grandson reacted to this crime that he was nowhere involved in the rape. He denied that he did not host any bachelor party in Amnesia pub ahead of his wedding on 17th of this month.
With the rape case all over the headlines, minister KTR ordered Home Minister Mahmood Ali, DGP and other officials to speed up the investigation and bring the crime to justice.
Yet again the police have acted with utter negligence in a high profile political case. A few months back, TRS MLA’s son was caught in a road rage at road number 45 of Jubilee Hills. The police were hesitant to arrest the MLA’s son and no one has any clue about the progress of the case.
