TDP Rejects Pawan’s ‘Three Options’

Published by

Just when it was anticipated that the Telugu Desam and Jana Sena might reunite ahead of the 2024 elections, the statements by JSP chief Pawan Kalyan irked the TDP. Apparently Pawan placed ‘Three Options’ before TDP for the reunion of both the parties.

Pawan claimed that he provided back end support for TDP in 2014 elections and in 2019, he indirectly favoured the party and so this time the JSP chief asked TDP to back him in 2024. TDP official spokesperson GV Reddy countered Pawan for the ‘Three Options.’

“Pawan did not want to split the votes in 2014 and he volunteered himself out of the general elections. In 2019, with support of Mayawati’s BSP and Communist Parties, Jana Sena contested in 137 Assembly segments and only at 16 places, JSP secured deposit,” stated GV Reddy with valid arguments.

GV Reddy advised Pawan to introspect before giving fancy offers to TDP. Further the TDP leader said that Pawan’s party alliance with BJP will yield no result. “BJP betrayed AP in every aspect and is still doing grave injustice to the state. People of AP will never vote for BJP for its misdeeds and if Pawan goes to polls in alliance with the BJP, the results can be expected very much against both the parties,” said GV.

Former MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar was also not convinced with Pawan’s ‘Three Options.’ Questioning Pawan’s capabilities, Chintamaneni asked if Pawan had really helped TDP to win the 2014 elections, why his brother Chiranjeevi’s party Praja Rajyam failed in 2009 elections? The TDP leader also cited Naga Babu’s defeat from Narsapuram Lok Sabha segment.

On social media, the TDP wing brutally trolled Pawan for the ‘Three Options’ and in retaliation came up with ‘Fourth’ option and it is to quit politics and return to films where he is good at.

This is an outright rejection from TDP and it will not entertain any of Pawan’s demands for a poll pact. This could dent the chances of both the parties getting reunited. So how will TDP and JSP become partners when they are in no mood to split the votes that would highly favour the YSRCP?
