The comments by Nupur Sharma have created havoc in the country. On Friday, after offering namaz, Muslims across the country agitated against Nupur Sharma and it surprised the intelligent sources who did not expect such violent protests.
It’s high time the state governments and Center wakes up before such agitations slip out of control which impose a huge threat to the nation’s integrity and peace. Political analysts say that neither the government of India nor respective state governments are working on finding a solution for these unexpected protests because every political party wants to take political advantage from it. Yet analysts suggested that this matter should be resolved with highest priority before it’s too late.
Though the BJP had suspended Nupur Sharma and Navin Jindal, the oppositions criticized that suspension is no justice for the comments they made against Mohammad Prophet. From the general public, there is an opinion that long term actions are needed against such leaders for their irresponsible remarks.
With the latest controversy, violent incidents have been reported in Uttar Pradesh and the local police have arrested 130 people in connection with the protest. On the other hand MIM’s Owaisi is trying to use this as a political opportunity and PM Modi should be watchful of such things.
Violent incidents were also reported in Delhi, West Bengal and other parts of the country. A curfew has been imposed in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand and similarly protesters have set fire to vehicles in Howrah, West Bengal. Jammu & Kashmir also observed a curfew while sensitive places of the valley region were completely shut. Political analysts say that if Nupur Sharma and Navin Jindal apologise for their comments before the media, the tensions could be brought under control.
In view of all this, social activists are urging the ruling parties to take restrained action without turning it into a war of attrition. PM Modi should realize that this country direly needs peace, stability and development at the moment.
