There is no end to the crimes by the sand mafia in Telangana. In a fresh episode, a farmer was killed by this mafia and this incident is reported in Tirumalapur village of Rajapur mandal, Mahbubnagar district.
The deceased farmer is identified as Narasimhulu and he stopped a truck that was carrying sand and was passing by his farm land. However, the truck driver reportedly ran the vehicle over Narasimhulu leading to his death.
The fellow villagers fumed over this incident and informed the police. Surprisingly, the police replied in reckless nature that they are busy with Covid-19 duty. The villagers alleged that the police and revenue officials have hand in sand mafia and so are not taking any action.
This is not something new in Telangana. Earlier Dalits were thrashed in KTR’s Siricilla constituency for stopping the trucks which were causing huge noise during nights.
