Amidst the growing tensions on the ‘Three Capitals’ and CRDA cancellation bills that are at AP Governor’s desk, AP BJP MP Sujana Chowdary made interesting comments. He reiterated that the Centre will definitely look into the capital row.
Defending his comments, Sujana further said, “Centre has a role to play in shifting the AP capital and in my view, as Centre has its hand in this issue, farmers of Amaravati are getting tax exemption.” The Rajya Sabha MP made these comments purely in his personal opinion and added that the party has nothing to do with it.
However, the AP BJP new chief Somu Veerraju countered Sujana’s comments. The official Twitter handle of AP BJP tweeted a video of Sujana’s comments and wrote that Centre has whatsoever no role in AP capital row but as a party, it’s decision is to have the capital in Amaravati.
Probably this is for the first time, AP BJP as a party made a clear cut statement on Amaravati and even more surprisingly, the new chief countered his own party leader’s comments.
These mixed reactions are being heard from the time TDP MPs jumped into BJP. Like how the BJP axed Kanna for being a sympathiser of TDP, AP BJP might take action against these defected MPs in the coming days.
