Actor and BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur constituency Ravi Kishan was trolled as he prepared to introduce a private bill in the Parliament and it’s regarding population control. This development from Ravi Kishan comes days after a United Nations predicted that India’s population will surpass China’s in 2023.
On the population control bill, Ravi Kishan said, “Very important to bring the population under control. With the way in which it’s rising, we’re heading towards an explosion.” The ‘Race Gurram’ villain further said he is viewing this Bill only with an aspect of development and not that of caste or religion.
However, Ravi Kishan was trolled by netizens as the actor is a father of four. Ravi Kishan has four children, three daughters and a son, with his wife Priti Kishan. But Ravi Kishan is not new to this proposal to control population. Many BJP leaders in the past have brought this issue (population) to the headlines but they were unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar informed Rajya Sabha that the government of India has no intentions of introducing any legislative measure for population control. According to National Family health Survey-5, the Total fertility Rate (TFR) declined to 2.0 between 2019 – 2021.
