KTR, who is holding several crucial portfolios in KCR’s cabinet including Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industry & Commerce, Information Technology, has interacted with Twitterati the other day.
In a long interaction that lasted for over 90 minutes, KTR patiently answered on diverse topics. In fact, he also responded to the criticism against him and his party. However, of all, his comments on AP CM YS Jagan and the ongoing fight with AP over the Krishna water sharing has become interesting.
Interestingly, when some Twitterati have brought up the issue of Jagan and the ongoing tussle with Andhra Pradesh, KTR expressed that Jagan may be a good friend and both may share good bond, however, he made it clear that there is no compromise on the interests of the Telangana’s state. Responding to a netizen, KTR said, “Absolutely wrong perception. It is true that we have cordial relations but no compromise on the interests of our state.”
It can be noted that AP CM Jagan has went ahead with his decision of constructing Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project (RILP) that is meant for the drinking water supply to the drought-hit areas of Rayalaseema, Nellore and fluoride-affected areas of Prakasam and Guntur districts. Whereas Telangana’s objection is that RILP would affect Palamuru-Ranga Reddy Project and affect the irrigation. While Telangana has moved the Supreme Court, AP is confident that it would win it.
Earlier on July 30, AP state government filed a complaint with the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) that depleting water level in Srisailam dam will drastically affect drinking water supply to drought-hit Rayalaseema. AP also complained against the TS Genco’s “indifferent attitude” alleging that it is detrimental to drinking water supply to areas in AP.
