Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy suddenly made a visit to Delhi. He had reached the national capital and is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 10.30 am. He is also likely to meet President Droupadi Murmu.
Reportedly, Jagan would discuss about payment of dues to Andhra Pradesh by the Centre and neighbouring Telangana. He would also seek release of funds for the multi-purpose Polavaram project. The Centre had revised the cost of the project based on the escalating costs and pegged it at Rs 55,548 crore. Jagan would urge the PM to release the same for completion of the project.
The CM would also speak about the compensation to be paid to the project oustees, as part of the Relief and Rehabilitation package. This apart, he would also seek fulfilling the pending provisions in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, finalized during the bifurcation of the state.
He is also likely to submit a memorandum seeking payment of Rs 6,627 power crore dues by the Telangana government and the revenue deficit funds to be released by the Centre. He would also request the PM to grant permission for medical colleges in the state.
After meeting the PM, he would meet the President, Vice-President and several Union ministers in Delhi.
