Ganesh Chaturthi is becoming more eco-friendly nowadays. Generally, Ganesh idols are made of Plaster of Paris. They are immersed in water after Ganesh Chaturthi, which harms the water bodies. Many of the people are practicing the eco-friendly Idol during the festival.
After winning laurels for his Green India Challenge Program which is taken up by people from different walks of life across the country, TRS MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar has now initiated another program.
Santosh Kumar now promotes Seed Ganesha. The Seed Ganesha is prepared with organic mud by mixing seeds inside the Ganesh idol, which will be distributed to the people.
The seed in the Idol sprouts into a plant within 5 to 7 days. After immersing the idol at home, the sapling can be planted on the premises of houses or neighborhood.
As part of the program, one lakh Seed Ganesh idols have been distributed. Another one lakh idols will be distributed in coming days.
This is another great initiation from the TRS MP who seems to be taking up mostly eco-friendly programs.
