Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s visit to Patna yesterday drew the attention of both the media and the political circles across the country. KCR met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Tejashvi Yadav, who also is the RJD chief.
KCR and Nitish addressed a joint press conference when Telangana CM called for BJP-mukt Bharat. He also said that the main opposition will be the alternative to BJP but not the third front.
The Congress has gone to such a stage from where its revival would take a long time and this could be reason why KCR said that the coalition of all the non-BJP parties would be main the opposition to the BJP at the Centre, observed political analysts.
Meanwhile, netizens raised doubts over the formation and sustenance of the non-BJP parties coalition as it would comprise leaders of many regional parties who have long experience in serving the public of their areas, understanding their needs and sentiments.
Now, if they come together, would they be able to get together with each other properly is the biggest question. Would they not fight over the PM candidate in the coalition?
Some others also reminded of TDP supremo and AP former CM N. Chandrababu Naidu’s similar meetings with the non-BJP parties before 2019 general elections and also the TDP’s condition in Andhra Pradesh now.
In a similar manner, they predicted that Telangana will be ultra-clean next year (post the 2023 elections) after the TRS could also be pushed to the oblivion. Netizens also posted emojis making mockery of the TRS chief’s attempt to topple the BJP-led government at the Centre.
A few of the Twitterati suspected if KCR’s efforts would bear fruit as the video of the joint press conference in which KCR has been persistently persuading Nitish Kumar to sit down even as he got ready to leave the place when the reporters began posing questions about the non-BJP coalition. It could have been a really embarrassing moment for KCR even as he was the guest, to persuade the host (Nitish) to sit at the conference, said senior politicians.
It has to be seen how would KCR’s efforts take shape and how many non-BJP parties would really continue in the coalition.
