Are Tollywood Politicians Distancing From YCP?

Published by

Before the 2019 elections, many Tollywood actors joined the YCP. The likes of Mohan Babu, Jayasudha, Jeevitha Rajasekhar, comedian Ali, Prudhviraj, Posani Krishna Murali, Krishnudu and few others joined Jagan’s party. Later they campaigned for the party in the elections too.

After YCP won the election and formed a government, people like Posani and Prithvi criticized the opposition leaders with strong language. However, with change in circumstances, many of the actors are distancing themselves from YCP.

Mohan Babu, Jayasudha, Prudhvi, Jeevitha and others have moved away from Jagan and recently there were reports that Mohan Babu is looking at TDP. Jeevitha had already joined the BJP while Ali had been patiently waiting to get a plump post from YCP high command. But he is not playing an active role in YCP while Posani is said to be upset that he was not recognised by Jagan yet. Ex-SVBC chairman Prudhvi may join Jana Sena anytime in the future and the likes of Krishnudu and young hero Tanish are gone completely silent.

The actors reportedly are in the opinion that Jagan and YCP has used them for their political needs and neglected them after coming to power.

Also, the cold war between Jagan sarkar and Tollywood industry regarding the ticket rates episode and benefit shows has bothered many actors. Few actors are in fear that if they support Jagan and YCP, they might face trouble in the industry and so they went into silent mode. Some actors are not willing to campaign on behalf of YCP in the next elections. Sensing the Telugu actors moving away, the YCP high command is trying to win back their faith.
