The AP Assembly sessions commenced with a debate on capital city row and the Assembly witnessed a dialog war. From CM Jagan to YCP minister, many opined that the Paadayatra of Amaravati farmers is a real estate and artificial agitation that is forcefully run by TDP.
The Thursday session concluded with CM Jagan’s speech and he said, “TDP did not construct the Amaravati capital but with graphics they created an illusion around Amaravati. With same graphics, farmers were provoked but real estate agents are doing this protest for TDP’s political gains”
Targeting TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, It was Naidu who estimated that it would cost Rs 4 or 5 Lakh crore for capital city construction. The irony is that in the TDP regime, they did not spend even Rs 1000 crore per year.
On decentralisation, Jagan explained that it doesn’t imply just capital city. “Decentralisation applies to administration. Chandrababu who claims ’40 years industry’ never imagined about Village Secretariat concept. We provided employment to 2.70 Lakh people with secretariats. We have established digital libraries and village clinics. In 75 years, only two new districts were formed whereas my government initiated 13 new districts. With Navaratnalu, we have transferred Rs 1.65 Lakh crore to the beneficiaries with absolute transparency and no chance for corruption. This is called decentralisation,” stated Jagan.
In a way Jagan suggested that his government is least bothered about the Paadayatra of Amaravati farmers and would go ahead with ‘Three Capitals.’
