Chandrababu, Where Is Your Fight For Amaravati?

Published by

TDP Chief and former CM Chandrababu Naidu continues his lectures and speeches through Zoom. Other than addressing party leaders and press people over Zoom, Naidu hasn’t initiated any action against AP government’s move against Amaravati and shifting capital.

Earlier, Naidu had given a deadline to Jagan to rethink his decision and Naidu’s challenges and deadlines have fallen on deaf ears of CM Jagan and the ruling party who have totally ignored him and taken Naidu lightly.

And many have expected that Naidu would at least take to streets and launch a massive protest against the government instead of resignations.

But despite being the head of principal Opposition party and being Opposition Leader of the state, Chandrababu confining himself to an ‘Online’ leader and this is worrying.

Naidu might be 70-plus and it’d not be a good time for him to step out considering the Covid crisis, but this is a good opportunity for Nara Lokesh to take up the mantle and lead the protest. A leader is who rightly uses an opportunity of crisis. Sadly, even Pawan Kalyan is confined indoors and not stepping out.

What’s ironic is instead of fighting for Amaravati and gaining political mileage, Naidu is dragging the Centre into it. Naidu desperately wants the Centre to intervene into the capital row citing that the Centre had funded the capital city Amaravati. This clearly indicates that Naidu wants to ride on Centre’s moves by banking on it. This isn’t a welcome move.

Where is the action plan from the Opposition party with regard to Amaravati? Other than legal battle, will the Opposition take to streets and mount pressure on the state government or will it just be a mute spectator by restricting itself to Zoom and Online lectures.

It’s high time TDP must act or else TDP would pay a hefty price if it won’t learn from its 2019 electoral defeat and the previous mistakes. Already former TDP leaders like Kodali Nani, Vallabhaneni Vamsi are openly stating that TDP is “done and dusted” and even Jr NTR may not revive it. Will Naidu make them true? Or Will he act?
