AP CM YS Jagan has directed the education department officials to provide special menu (food), television and internet services in all the government welfare hostels. On Thursday Jagan held a review meeting on the government residential schools and Gurukul as part of ‘NADU-NEDU.’
Jagan asked the education department officials to appoint special officers to monitor the facilities in Gurukul, SC, ST, Minority and BC welfare hostels and ensure the facilities are being implemented with utmost seriousness.
Suggesting to oversee the implementation of quality food and logistics in these hostels, Jagan said that the special officer should conduct a review on a regular basis. Making a change in the Gurukul, Jagan asked to attach the Gurukul academics with the regular school education department. Mandal Education Officer (MEO) will take the responsibility for Gurukuls as well.
There are about 6 Lakh SC, ST, BC and Minority students in government welfare hostels. Jagan directed the officials to provide quality food and a fresh menu every day. He advised the officials to send proposals to the government regarding the same.
On the logistics in these hostels and schools, Jagan mentioned about the cleanliness. “All the schools should have toilet facilities and they have to be well maintained on time-to-time basis with extreme hygiene conditions. Any drainage leaks should be resolved immediately. The village clinics and local PHC should be mapped to government schools and hostels,” said Jagan. The officials informed CM Jagan that they are developing a new mobile application for the same.
From the beginning of YCP government, CM Jagan has been working extensively to improve the basic infrastructure and amenities in the government run schools and hostels. His ideas are commendable and hope the officials really live up to Jagan’s inputs and bring remarkable changes in government schools.
