Political strategist Prashant Kishor of I-PAC has been working with TRS party for the last 12 months or so. But it appears that PK has parted ways with TRS, going by the latest media reports.
Going into details, TRS chief KCR has national political ambitions and he initially roped in Prashant Kishor for the same. Simultaneously PK was doing his own political thing. He tried to join Congress and met Sonia Gandhi, a couple of times. But the talks between PK and the Gandhis were unsuccessful. Post this PK planned to float his own political party nation wide and zeroed on his home state, Bihar to begin the proceedings.
Somehow Prashant Kishor’s plans did not move ahead. In between Bihar CM Nitish Kumar led Janata Dal broke the alliance with the BJP. Now Nitish Kumar along with RJD’s Lalu Prasad Yadav are trying for a new front that includes Congress as well. Prashant Kishor is reportedly working for the new front and he met the likes of Nitish and Mamata Banerjee for the same.
With too much on his plate, Prashant Kishor informed KCR that the former would not be able to work for TRS on national level. Also PK told KCR that he would only provide partial support to TRS in the form of surveys within the parameters of Telangana state and the rest should be handled by the party.
KCR was not convinced with Prashant Kishor’s proposal and decided to completely let go of PK. It’s been almost three to four months that KCR has contacted PK while the I-PAC team/staff reportedly left Hyderabad.
This report turned into a hot debate in Telangana politics. What is KCR going to do next? TRS wants to retain power for the third time and it has hardly a year before the elections arrive. BJP is posing a huge threat to TRS and the roads look seriously tough for KCR.
