The Maha Paadayatra by Amaravati farmers has crossed over 300 kilometres so far. On Sunday the farmers walked for 15 kilometres in Dwaraka Tirumala, Rallakunta, East Godavari District Ayyavaram, Kothagudem. At 6 PM, the farmers reached Dubacherla and their accommodation was provided at Dattasai mandir.
The Paadyatra was highly successful in Guntur, Vijayawada and West Godavari districts. People from every village in these districts welcomed Amaravati farmers and extended their solidarity to farmers. But from here the Paadayatra will be crucial as the farmers will be entering the East Godavari and upwards to Vizag.
Since the YCP government is highly considering Vizag as the Executive Capital, the Amaravati farmers need to be watchful in convincing the people of Vizag for ‘One Capital One Region.’ Before that, East Godavari and Rajahmundry places play a significant role. Amaravati farmers definitely need the moral support of locals from here.
Despite the YCP government cracking down on Amaravati farmers and their Paadayatra using police force, the journey did not stop and in fact the agitation is getting more and more support with each day passing. Simultaneously the farmers are exposing the YCP government and CM Jagan’s promises that are ignored.
Surprisingly the bad roads are playing spoilsport. The Paadayatra got delayed by 10 to 12 days and there is a possibility of reaching Arasavalli, said JAC convener Puvvada Sudhakar. He added that 100 villages have been covered by walking 312 kilometres.
