The condition of roads in Andhra Pradesh make it to headlines every now and then. It all started with Jana Sena and its chief Pawan Kalyan. Their protest against YCP government neglecting the roads led to huge outrage and all the oppositions criticise the state government regularly. But the YCP government is unmoved over this criticism and in fact tries to cover up that all is well.
In a major embarrassment to the YCP government, former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu also commented on the roads in AP. Visiting a KisanKraft Centre in Nellore, Naidu was unimpressed with the roads.
“The condition of roads are horrible. I suggest the state government to work on laying good roads,” stated Venkaiah. Yet the YCP government managed to get some compliments from the ex-VP on other things.
“I’m happy that a KisanKraft Center was opened in the district where I was born. I’m proud that agricultural machinery from Nellore is going into international markets. However, agriculture is using new techniques. The use of domestic cattle has become less and use of machinery has increased,” said Venkaiah.
The Vice President appealed that centres like Kisan Kraft should encourage farmers in using the machinery and awareness camps should be held frequently till farmers get used to them.
