The YCP government is sticking to the ‘Three Capitals’ idea despite withdrawing the bill earlier this year. And now the YCP as a political party, has raked up an agitation to intensify the demand for Three Capitals and with all the ruling party MLAs, a Joint Action Committee (JAC) has been formed.
This JAC met in Vizag today and YCP MLA from Chodavaram has tendered his resignation in support of ‘Three Capitals.’ The MLA is Karanam Dharma Sri and he has written to AP Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitharaman offering his resignation. The YCP MLA Dharma Sri challenged Tekkali TDP MLA Atchannaidu to also resign as his MLA and go for a by-election. “UttarAndhra region lost immensely all these years and Vizag as Executive Capital would change the scenario. This time we are not going to lose the opportunity and we are ready for any sacrifices,” said Dharma Sri.
AP IT minister Gudivada Amarnath and former tourism minister Avanti Srinivas also attended the JAC meeting. Speaking minister Gudivada Amarnath said that they are ready to go for a referendum on ‘Three Capitals’ and questioned the TDP.
Ex-minister Avanti Srinivas asked Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to support Vizag as Executive Capital. “Pawan should support our agitation and contribute to the development of Vizag. Irrespective of political parties, leaders should voice for Vizag as Executive Capital,” said Avanti.
Overall, the YCP has intensified its push for the ‘Three Capitals’ idea even before tabling a new bill in the AP Assembly. This strategy was unpredictable and the YCP is planning something big on ‘Three Capitals.’
