Former Indian captain MS Dhoni left the cricket fans with disappointment on Independence Day with his retirement announcement. Many past and present cricketers praised Dhoni on his retirement and here comes the biggest appreciation to the ‘Captain Cool.’ It is from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM Modi has written a detailed letter to Dhoni and it was the latter who shared this taking to his Twitter. In the two page letter, Modi wrote, “130 Cr Indians were disappointed but also eternally grateful for all that you have done for Indian cricket.”
Adding, “Rising from humble beginnings in a small town, you burst onto the national scene, made a name for yourself and most importantly, made India proud,” stated Modi. The PM also mentioned about the sacrifice of Dhoni’s wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva during his cricketing career.
In reply, Dhoni thanked PM Modi for the letter and added it means a lot. “An Artist, Soldier and Sportsperson what they crave for is appreciation, that their hard work and sacrifice is getting noticed and appreciated by everyone. Thanks PM @narendramodi for your appreciation and good wishes,” tweeted Dhoni with the pictures of letter.
