YCP played its card before Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan with ‘Visakha Garjana’. During the weekend the YCP hosted Visakha Garjana in support of Vizag as Executive Capital but it did not get the expected response.
Pawan Kalyan was supposed to hold the Jana Vani program but the police department and other officials created too many hurdles for him right from the moment he stepped in Vizag. If Pawan was given a free hand, he would have hosted a road show and then the Jana Vani and had gone to Hyderabad by now. Instead the YCP tried to control him and this tactic misfired to a great extent.
The YCP stooped to such a low that there was electricity supply interruption in the route Pawan was travelling and when Pawan was trying to wave to his fans and Jana Sena supporters from his vehicle’s sunroof, the police attempted to block him and insisted that he gets inside the car. The police handedness towards Janasenani was clearly visible in the visuals captured by the media.
This followed by restricting Pawan Kalyan to his hotel and arresting Jana Sena leaders. Due to these events, there was absolutely no real discussion about the Visakha Garjana program that was sponsored by the YCP. Hundreds of policemen were deployed near the Novotel hotel where Pawan was staying. Later he was served notices that there are prohibitions in the East Zone of the city and he cannot hold any rallies or meetings.
The entire state politics has been revolving around Pawan for the past two days due to the commotion caused by the fans who gathered outside the Novotel hotel in large numbers. On the whole, there is no doubt that Jagan’s government deserves the credit for attempting to control Pawan which eventually benefitted the Jana Sena leader. With all these acts of Jagan government, Pawan and Janasena gets extra mileage in the public.
