Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy finally ended the suspense on the election campaign in Munugode. He was confronted by the media in New Delhi this morning and when asked about the campaign, Komatireddy commented in a critical manner, indirectly targeting T-PCC chief Revanth Reddy.
“I don’t think there is a necessary for Home Guards in Munugode. Only Superintendent of Police (SP) level leaders are eligible to campaign there. When we have SPs, there is no need for Home Guards like me,” said Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. He also added that one leader vowed to bring Congress party back to power in Telangana in the next polls and he should be answerable.
These comments exposed Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s dual standards. He demanded an apology from Revanth Reddy when the T-PCC chief called seniors of Congress, Home Guards. Later Revanth issued an unconditional apology and everyone believed that the matter was over. But Venkat Reddy is still angry with Revanth probably for other reasons that are not known.
Yet with these comments, Venkat Reddy sent out signals that he is supporting his brother Rajgopal Reddy who is contesting on BJP’s B-form. This internal conflict between leaders of Congress will definitely cause serious damage and it may not just affect Congress but also the BJP.
