The crime rate against women hasn’t come down yet. We do hear about at least one crime every other day and that disturbs everyone of us. Despite laws being enforced, police taking stringent action against the perpetrators, the crime against women has become a daily routine for a few people and then a few days later, the person who committed the crime walks out of jail. But there needs to be more steps that enable people to identify the culprit and alienate them.
Crusader against crime against women, Sunitha Krishnan has come up with an idea and this got an approval from Telangana IT minister KTR. “@KTRTRS Garu, Can we set up a Sex Offenders Register for the State of Telangana of convicted offenders on the lines that exists in #USA which even the public can access for the purposes of recruitment etc. I am happy to submit a concept note based on research of 20 countries,” tweeted Sunitha.
Having seen this proposal, KTR asked Sunitha to present the concept to his team. In reply Sunitha added that she would present the concept by the end of the day.
Indeed this idea looks brilliant and Sunitha deserves all the credit. She herself is a survivor and she has been doing a lot of social activities for the victims. Hope her idea gets going from the Telangana government and become a first of its kind in the country that should turn into a nightmare for culprits who indulge in crime and pay a heavy price for the rest of their lives.
