Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to conduct the first public meeting of his Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), the national party launched by him, in Vizag.
According to reports, KCR is contemplating to launch his party in Andhra Pradesh by holding the meeting in Vizag after Pongal next year. Initially, KCR thought of holding the meeting either in Vijayawada or Vizag but now, he seems to have finalized that Vizag is the right place for the launch of BRS.
In the wake of the various political developments in Andhra Pradesh, KCR could have taken that decision. Moreover, people belonging to KCR’s community are in a large number in north Andhra and it is being predicted that the public meeting would be a success if it is organised in Vizag. However, there is no formula stating that meetings would be a success in a place if people of the leaders’ community are concentrated in that particular venue.
Reportedly, KCR has decided to send a few of his party leaders to do some ground work before holding the meeting. There is information that minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav would visit Andhra Pradesh soon, as part of the same plan.
There is talk that KCR is also planning to find some senior leaders from AP who could join the party by that time. Talasani had already got in touch with former minister Konatala Ramakrishna, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao from North Andhra and DL Ravindra from Kadapa. KCR is also reportedly getting in touch with his acquaintances in Andhra Pradesh.
It is learnt that KCR is very particular to finalise about the leaders who would join the party before deciding on the date and venue of the public meeting. However, there are doubts if KCR’s BRS would evoke response from the public. Being the protagonist for the bifurcation of the state and the criticism made against the Andhra people and leaders by him, will people be ready to welcome KCR and his party here?
