Congress scion Rahul Gandhi is currently walking the whole of India as part of the Indian National Congress Party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, and he has come to Telugu states as well. Everywhere, surely RG is receiving thunderous applause and his ways of walking hand in hand with locals, and listening to the plight of the poor, as well as interacting with the local party leaders and others. Here’s the catch though.
To promote Rahul’s tour in a big way, Congress Party has come up with a video where they used the recent blockbuster song “Sultan” from KGF 2. Using the Hindi version of the song, and printing the lyrics on Rahul’s walking videos, Congress leaders have made the video viral on social media. Responding to this, now MRT Music, the owner of the copyrights of KGF music, has filed a copyright infringement case against the Congress party and others who shared the video. The petitioner says that Congress Party has used content without seeking permission/license for marketing and publicity.
Rumours are being heard in political circles that MRT Music was pressurised by the ruling party in Karnataka (BJP) to take action on Rahul Gandhi and Congress for using KGF Music. Otherwise, to date, we have seen many events using KGF music many times for many heroes and leaders, but never copyrights cases were filed. This reminds us of how a village that gave land to a meeting of Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena is getting harassed by the rulers in Andhra Pradesh now.
