People Not Happy with Jagan! Hints Dharmana

Published by

Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao had made some sensational comments on Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that people who try to introduce reforms will definitely have more opposition. Reforms will take some time to yield results but there will be resistance from the public initially, he said.

He likened Jagan to a reformer and said that the YCP government was facing opposition due to the reforms being introduced by him.

The minister reiterated that VIzag will be the main capital of Andhra Pradesh. The public will have to travel to Kurnool for works relating to the High Court and the legislators will be in Amaravati only when the Assembly is in session, he said.

He was speaking at a programme held in connection with the Gadapa Gadapaku programme in Srikakulam municipality limits. Refuting allegations that Vizag was not located at the centre of the state, he said that the Port City has connectivity with all the regions in the state. “Even Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata are not located centrally in the respective states,” he said.

The minister also said that while those who did not introduce the reforms need to be criticized, the public are slamming those who brought about the changes. The public has to understand the reforms, he said.

Generally, it is said that Srikakulam is a backward district but in reality, many large-scale projects have been sanctioned for the district. He listed out the various humongous projects sanctioned for the district.

In Munukutlapalem, a fishing harbor was sanctioned and is ready for inauguration, he pointed out.

In Bhawanapadu, a port is being set up at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore. The foundation for the port will be laid by the chief minister in December, he said.

The project on River Vamsadhara has been getting delayed due to the disputes with neighbouring Odisha. To fulfil the farmers’ need, water is being brought to their farms through slight modifications in the scheme.

Similarly, the YCP government is spending Rs 800 crore to eliminate the kidney problems due to high fluoride content in the water at Uddanam in Srikakulam district. To check the problem, water is being supplied directly to Uddanam from Vamsadhara reservoir. This will avoid the kidney-related problems for the people in the village, he added.
