Indian star cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba is likely to contest the Gujarat Assembly elections. Rivaba had joined the ruling BJP three years back in 2019 months after she was appointed chief of the women’s wing of Karni Sena.
On the Gujarat Assembly elections, the BJP Central Election Committee will be meeting today to finalise the candidates for all the constituencies in the state. The BJP leadership reportedly decided to give chance to youngsters in this election instead of seniors and leaders who have crossed 75 years of age. Shockingly this list includes former chief minister Vijay Rupani and former deputy chief minister Nitin Patel.
Sensing a chance here Rivaba reportedly sent feelers to Gujarat BJP leadership to give her a chance to contest the mainstream elections. Rivaba resides in Rajkot where the Jadeja family operate a restaurant and in case ex-CM Vijay Rupani is snubbed by the BJP leadership, Rivaba has high chances of getting a ticket from Rajkot West constituency.
The list of BJP candidates for Gujarat polls is likely to be out by the end of the day and it has to be seen if Rivaba Jadeja manages to get a ticket.
