In an alleged insult to some women at CM Jagan’s meeting in Narsapuram of West Godavari, police personnel reportedly asked few women wearing black chunnis to remove it. As black marks sign of protest, police people have been instructed by local YSRCP leaders to stop people wearing black dress. With no other option, some people have handed over chunnis to police who threw them at the entrance whereas others returned their homes.
Even, the people who brought black umbrellas to save them from sun and rain are asked to handover or they were barred from entering venue. YSRCP leaders were reportedly worried that some may show umbrellas during CM speech as a protest. Only people who handed over black umbrellas are allowed inside the meeting area.
Heavy criticism is pouring in social media and anti-Jagan media over police action. However, police personnel reportedly maintained that their action was a precautionary measure.
It can be known that over 60,000 families staying in Narsapuram and surrounding areas have been instructed to attend CM Jagan’s meeting and make it success. Grama volunteers, YSRCP leaders and cadre were given targets to gather crowds for the CM meeting. So people who were transported in vehicles by ycp netas from villages too suffered with the police measures.
This whole issue is being highlighted by some news channels and anti-Jagan media. We have to wait and see whether YSRCP responds to these reports or will they just ignore.
