Senior Congress leader and Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow in New Delhi. This meeting has gained huge significance amidst unconfirmed reports suggesting that the senior Komatireddy will be joining the BJP.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has been upset with Congress high command for a long time now. The other day he received a rude shock that his name went missing from the new working committees. Immediately Komatireddy met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and discussed the party’s internal matters. Post this meeting, some added that Komatireddy cooled down and very soon he will be active in T-Congress affairs.
But the fact is Komatireddy is still not in a mood to work under the leadership of T-PCC chief Revanth Reddy. He expected that Revanth will be axed from the post after the Munugode by-election but that did not happen. Yet Komatireddy is hopeful that he would get the much desired T-PCC chief role.
While patiently waiting for T-PCC role, Komatireddy is also keeping his options open about his future. If Rajgopal Reddy had won the Munugode by-election, Venkat Reddy would have joined the BJP by now, said the political analysts. They added that Venkat Reddy will get clarity once he meets PM Modi and then he would take a call on quitting the Congress.
Meanwhile T-Congress says that Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is meeting PM Modi only to discuss developmental works of his Lok Sabha constituency. “Every MP can meet the Prime Minister or any other central minister for the development of their constituency. There is nothing wrong in it,” said the Gandhi Bhavan sources.
