Those Who Drink Will Obviously Die: CM’s Shocking Remarks

Published by

The on-going Bihar Assembly sessions witnessed heated arguments between the ruling and opposition parties over the death of 30 people for consuming spurious liquor in Saran district. And in a shocking response Bihar CM Nitish Kumar went on to make irresponsible comments.

Apparently the main opposition, BJP demanded compensation for the families of the deceased. Reluctant to announce ex-gratia, Bihar CM Nitish said, “Those who drink liquor will obviously die.

We have an example in this case.” Well Nitish lost his cool before making this comment because the BJP was protesting continuously in the Assembly and unsettled by this Nitish commented so.

After the situation calmed down, Bihar CM issued a clarification that there were deaths when there was no prohibition. Currently Bihar and Gujarat are the only two states in India where liquor is prohibited but illegal supply is rampant despite strict watch by the authorities and the police.

“When we brought prohibition and people accepted it. But some people are committing mistakes by consuming it. We will create more awareness campaigns to educate people,” added Nitish Kumar.
