The other day the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party office at Sardar Patel Road in Delhi was inaugurated by Telangana CM KCR. For this ceremony, BRS party leaders and activists from Telangana landed in the national capital in large numbers. Now that the event is over and the leaders have started to return but they received a rude shock from airlines.
Many of the BRS leaders and activists have taken a flight to Delhi and some did not book a return ticket. When they reached the airport for return travel, they were shell shocked to see the ticket prices touching Rs 70,000. Usually a single flight ticket from Delhi to Hyderabad costs roughly around Rs 10,000 and on Wednesday and Thursday the ticket prices were seven times higher.
Tickets in major airlines were booked well in advance while there were a few seats in the connecting flights. Even the tickets in connecting flights were showing Rs 70,000 and these connecting flights have pit stops in multiple locations and the journey to Hyderabad was around 15 hours.
Seeing this, the leaders and activists stayed back in Delhi for another couple of days. We hear that a BRS MLA travelled to Delhi with nearly 100 of his supporters and while from Ranga Reddy district close to 2000 BRS karyakarthas went to Delhi.
