On 21st of December AP CM YS Jagan will be turning 50 and to mark this ‘Golden Jubilee’ moment, the YCP government has decided to gift tabs to school going student.
In June, the YCP government has signed an MoU with edu tech company, BJYU’s and as part of this deal, tabs will be provided to 8th grade students.
The AP government has decided to roll out this scheme on 21st of this month but the irony is the academic year has half passed. Disclosing a few details about the tab, Education department commissioner Suresh Kumar added that nearly 4.7 Lakh government students would get this tab.
It’s a Samsung A7 tab with 8.8 inches screen and its current market price is Rs 14,000 to Rs 15,000. Commissioner Suresh Kumar added that every student who gets the tab, will be given a code. “Whatever the student does with the tab gets stored in the server and monitored by the teachers. We expect the students to make maximum use of the tab and develop their skills set,” said Commissioner Suresh.
The AP government is spending Rs 500 crore on tabs for students while BJYU’s subscription is being provided at free of cost.
