Centre sings to Jagan Tunes on Rushikonda?

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has found fault with both the AP government and government of India on the alleged illegal excavations at Rushikonda, Vizag. Hearing this case, the AP High Court studied the affidavit filed by the government of India.

Previously the AP High Court had asked the Union government to appoint a committee to verify the allegations of illegal excavations at Rushikonda. However the Union government appointed officials from the AP state government and the same was included in the affidavit filed.

The High Court objected to this affidavit and made some serious comments on both AP government and Centre. “Looks like both the governments conspired on this issue,” quoted the High Court. The Court added that if there is a possibility, it would appoint its own committee.

Directing the petitioners who approached the High Court against illegal excavations, the court asked them to file counter affidavits. The AP High Court added that it would hear this case on Thursday morning.

Rushikonda excavations have been making news for a long time now. Opposition parties and leaders have tried their best to inspect the excavations but using police force, the YCP denied any inspection.

But drone footage showed a grave situation and that’s a real cause of worry in terms of environmental challenges.
