Politics is all about blame games. When in opposition, the leaders try to target the ruling party over its policies, welfare schemes and decisions. This is a common occurrence. In Khammam, Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu did not utter a word against Telangana CM KCR or BRS. But Naidu made it clear that there is absolutely no chance of Telugu states reuniting and criticised YCP.
In his speech, Chandrababu mentioned only the development in the erstwhile AP during the TDP regime. He pointed out every project undertaken from Hyderabad to Khammam and assured that Telangana will get its glory if TDP comes to power again. He appealed to the leaders who left TDP to return and this call had a minor impact on BRS leaders Thummala Nageswara Rao and Mandava Venkateswara Rao.
Thummala who shifted from TDP to TRS was given priority by Telangana CM KCR. Post 2018 Assembly elections, the scenario changed with Thummala getting defeated. Moreover, the BRS in Khammam is divided into four groups and three groups are ganging up against Thummala’s gang.
Apparently Thummala is upset that even KCR is least bothered about him. In the recent past Thummala tried to show his dominance in Khammam and in a meeting, pro-TDP slogans were heard when Thummala was addressing the gathering.
It’s the same case with Mandava Venkateshwar Rao. After AP bifurcation, Mandava is not active in politics and before 2019 Lok Sabha elections, KCR personally invited Mandava to TRS. But so far Mandava was not given any importance in the party by KCR and so he remained silent.
Amidst this silence we hear that the Telangana TDP wants to invite Mandava into the party and is likely to offer a big role. If Thummala and Mandava return to T-TDP, that’s a big deal.
