On the eve of AP CM YS Jagan’s birthday, the YCP government distributed tabs to class 8 standard students who are part of government run schools. 5.18 lakh students received these tabs and the state government invested Rs 688 crore for the tabs. The YCP government campaigned extensively about the tabs, calling it a revolutionary.
AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju reacted to this and added that ‘Jagan Anna Tabs’ are sponsored by PM Narendra Modi led BJP government. “Tabs are part of the union government’s comprehensive ‘Shiksha Abhiyaan.’ There will be the union government’s contribution in every initiative of the state government. This shows the support the states are receiving from the Centre,” added Somu Veerraju.
Off late Somu’s comments have become repetitive. Indeed the union government has to support the states part of cooperative federalism. It’s silly on Somu to claim Centre’s share in this tabs distribution because the AP government roped in BYJU’s to provide premium content to students which is worth Rs 778 crore at free of cost. In fact BYJU’s contribution is more compared to AP and BJP government’s.
