Just months after the YCP formed government in Andhra Pradesh in 2019, CM Jagan announced that AP needs decentralisation and so opted for three capitals. Primarily, Jagan and YCP leaders said that three capitals is highly beneficial for Rayalaseema region and so their government has decided to establish a High Court in Kurnool.
The big question, the YCP failed to address how Rayalaseema would see the fruits of development, if the High Court is established in Kurnool. Forget shifting the High Court to Seema region, there are no signs of anything as such happening. CM Jagan failed to lay at least a step forward in this regard.
Moreover this idea of three capitals is slowly losing its momentum and it is being believed that it’s a dubious promise to deceive the people of Rayalaseema. And this whole setup looks like it’s a big conspiracy hatched against Amaravati.
Apparently even the representatives of the YCP government, advocates made it clear that they have no intention of shifting the High Court to Kurnool as of now.
If all that has been done so far is put together a recent decision taken by the Jagan government shows how committed it is to the establishment of a High Court in Kurnool. The Jagan government has recently canceled the G.O. given earlier to set up a Judicial Academy in Kurnool in order to move the High Court to Kurnool.
Surprisingly the YCP government noded for Judicial Academy in Amaravati and based on this decision, we can assume that shifting of AP High Court is not possible in near future. This is the brutal reality one has to accept and yet the YCP government sings the same tune that it is committed towards three capitals.
It remains to be seen if the people of Seema will believe in Jagan’s government even after knowing about the Judicial Academy.
