Congress former chief Rahul Gandhi, who is on a padayatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, said he would love to settle with a woman having a mix of qualities of his grandmother Indira Gandhi and mother Sonia Gandhi.
Gandhi shared his opinion during an interview by a YouTube channel in his nationwide Bharat Jodo Yatra. He also termed his grandmother and former PM Indira Gandhi as the ‘love of my life and my second mother’.
Rahul shared the interview on his Twitter handle.
Gandhi also spoke about his love for driving motorcycles. He referred to a Chinese electric company that manufactures bicycles and mountain bikes with electric motors. He said that he had driven an electric scooter but never an electric bike. Rahul said that he does not own a car but has a CR-V, which is his mother’s.
Rahul also revealed that he is not interested in cars and bikes. However, he said he was interested in driving motor bikes. “I can fix a car but am not obsessed with cars.” He also said that he liked an old Lambretta rather than an R1, and claimed that he preferred cycling to motorcycling as it has the concept of using one’s own power.
When asked about being called ‘pappu’, he said it was a propaganda campaign and added that those calling him with such names are doing it out of some fear inside them. “I do not care about these names. It does not matter much to me. I do not hate anyone. You abuse me or hit me, I would not hate you.”
Speaking about the electric vehicle revolution, the Gandhi scion said that India was not doing what needs to be done. He said that production of batteries, motors and infrastructure was not there. “It is all ad hoc. The authorities do not have a strategy about how it should be done.”
Apart from electric revolution, India has also missed out on drone revolution, he said, adding that he was very passionate about it.
