Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan’s brother and actor Naga Babu hit back at the YCP leaders for terming the former ‘a package star’. The YCP men have been alleging that Pawan Kalyan had taken a ‘package’ from TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu to sell off all the votes polled for Jana Sena in the next elections.
Peeved over the repeated allegations against Pawan, Jana Sena leader Naga Babu took to Twitter and asked the YCP leaders and director Ram Gopal Varma too as to who had given a package to his brother. “Did your grandfather give the package? Or did your father give the package? Who gave the package to us?”
At the same time, Naga Babu termed RGV as ‘vedhava’, ‘sannasi’ and ‘neech kamine kutthe’. He is an opportunist who can stoop to very low level for his need. So I would not speak about him,” Naga Babu said.
The Jana Sena is planning to organise an event to elicit opinion of the youth on what would they consider development and how they think it can be made a reality. Reacting to this, the YCP leaders alleged that the event was a precursor to TDP leader Lokesh’s Yuva Galam.
When asked by a reporter about the increasing tirade against his brother, Naga Babu said “Nee amma mogudu vacchi icchada package?” Soon he covered it up saying it was Kodali Nani style of criticism.
Further, he said that his brother takes crores of rupees as remuneration for acting in films and that they were happy with whatever little they have. “You (YCP leaders) have lakhs of crores of rupees but are not happy. We have very little compared to the YCP men but are sharing it with others. First, learn to share whatever you have. The YCP leaders lack maturity in thoughts. Do we need a package?”
Film director RGV also had been criticising Pawan that he is the only party leader not claiming to become the CM which means that he had sold himself to the Kammas. “Earlier, Pawan showed interest in occupying the CM seat but of late, he had stopped making that claim and this means he had obtained some benefit from the Kammas,” he tweeted.
RGV also said that Pawan had mortgaged the interests of Kapus to Naidu. Reacting to this statement, Naga Babu said that he respects his Kapu community but at the same time, he was not casteist. “This shows that those making such statements are egoistic. Remember that Kapus are not people who have no ethical values. The Kapu community had been behind the victory of several CMs in the past. Even these YCP leaders came to power with the backing of Kapus. Who are we to mortgage the interests of a community? Why would we do it,” he asked.
Moreover, Pawan met Naidu personally a couple of days ago which had added fuel to the speculation of the YCP leaders. In the wake of the increasing criticism against Pawan and likelihood of Naga Babu being fielded as Jana Sena candidate from the Visakhapatnam Parliamentary constituency, the latter tried to give some clarification. It has to be seen how the YCP leaders and RGV would respond to Naga Babu’s comments.
