Telugu actor Ali who is the Advisor to AP government (Electronic Media) said he is ready to contest against his friend and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan. Ali was at AP Tourism minister Roja’s Assembly constituency, Nagari on Tuesday as a guest of honour of a private event. He was confronted by the media and he predicted that YCP will retain government in 2024.
“Pawan Kalyan is a good friend of mine but politics and cinema are poles apart. If YCP leadership asks me to contest against Pawan Kalyan, I’m ready for it,” said Ali. He stated that he will contest from anywhere the party leadership or CM Jagan insists or orders.
Expressing confidence of YCP’s victory in the next polls, Ali commented that people have knowledge of the state government’s welfare and work. “People will vote and elect those parties who have done good to them. CM Jagan will retain power and YCP will sweep 175 Assembly constituencies in the 2024 elections,” said Ali.
The star comedian also reacted to Pawan’s jibe on AP minister Roja. “Criticism is common in politics. Roja was called a Diamond Rani (queen) and indeed she is equivalent to Kohinoor Diamond,” added Ali.
Ali’s comments have stormed the media headlines and Tollywood industry circles. In 2019, Ali anticipated MLA ticket but was left out due to many political equations. Later the YCP planned to send him to Rajya Sabha but that did not happen and at last he was given an advisor role but he is still hopeful of contesting the mainstream elections.
