Won’t Interfere Now, SC Tells AP Gov On G.O. 1

In a setback for the YCP government, the Supreme Court has redirected the AP High Court to look into the G.O. number 1 which was brought to prohibit road rallies in the state. Earlier the AP High Court had issued a stay on the order and the AP government approached the Supreme against AP High Court. In this case, YCP rebel MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju suspected that AP CM Jagan government is conspiring against transfer of AP High Court Judge.

Chief Justice Chandrachud led bench made it clear that it would not interfere with the petition in the present circumstances. The CJI suggested that a division bench headed by the Chief Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra of the High Court should conduct the inquiry on 23rd of this month.

MP RRR accused the YCP government of wasting public money in contempt of court cases. “Already Rs 2.50 crore was paid to advocate generals by the Jagan government and for G.O. 1 case, the YCP government has roped in reputed lawyers like Kapil Sibal who charge Rs 25 to Rs 30 Lakh for single appearance,” stated RRR.

The Narsapuram MP said that the YCP government has no respect for courts. “This government breaches the court’s order every time and later appeals when it gets punished in Contempt trials. YCP is playing a judicial game by not willing to face Chief Justice Mishra led bench. This is unacceptable and there are allegations that YCP is conspiring for the transfer of judge,” said RRR.
