The cold war between Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and BRS government is touching new peaks every other day. After appearing in back-to-back news channels’ debates against the KCR government, Governor Tamilisai is now creating more hurdles ahead of the Budget 2023 sessions.
Later this week, the Telangana Assembly sessions are scheduled to resume and the BRS government is likely to introduce the State’s Budget for the financial year 2023-24. The BRS government has sent the Budget Bill to Raj Bhavan for Governor Tamilisai’s approval.
From the Pragathi Bhavan sources we hear that the Governor hasn’t approved the Budget Bill yet and the Telangana government is waiting for the Bill to return from Raj Bhavan. With no information from Raj Bhavan, the Telangana government has decided to approach the Telangana High Court against Governor Tamilisai.
Senior counsel of the Supreme Court, Dushyanth Dawe will appear on behalf of Telangana government and he will be filing a launch motion petition in the High Court. These developments brought suspense to the Assembly sessions.
This is the last budget for the BRS government with Assembly elections scheduled in December. The KCR government wants to introduce new welfare schemes to attract the voters and now that the bill is lying with the Governor, the BRS sources are closely watching the Governor’s moves.
