Former CBI Joint Director VV Lakshmi Narayana is frequently making it to the headlines for political reasons. He rubbished the rumours of joining Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) that surfaced after meeting BRS MLA Vivekananda Goud but confirmed a big thing that he will repeat 2019.
In the 2019 elections, Lakshmi Narayana contested for Vizag Lok Sabha seat and in 2024 he will again contest from the same constituency. “It’s the media that is associating me with multiple political parties and as far as I’m concerned, if any political party approaches me and if our ideologies match, I will contest with them. If things do not work out, the Indian Constitution has given freedom to an individual to contest as an independent. And yes I will definitely contest from Vizag and there is no second thought in it,” said Lakshmi Narayana.
After taking Voluntary Retirement (VRS) from CBI, Lakshmi Narayana entered the mainstream politics. He joined Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena and received B-form for Vizag Lok Sabha. But Lakshmi Narayana lost the polls and stood in third position with 2,88,874 votes.
Lakshmi Narayana seems to have special interest for Vizag which is soon going to be the Executive Capital of the state as announced by AP CM YS Jagan ahead of the Global Investors Summit scheduled next month in the beach city.
