Former vice-president Venkaiah Naidu reminded that he had already spoken about his stand on Amaravati in the past and that he would not like to speak about it now as he was not in politics now.
He said that he had taken part in the foundation laying ceremony and also released funds when he was the Union urban development minister. You try to understand my stand on Amaravati basing on these, he told a student at SRKR Engineering College when she asked him whether he would support Amaravati or Visakhapatnam as the capital.
Venkaiah Naidu took part in several programmes at Bhimavaram in West Godavari district. He paid tributes to the statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju. Later, he participated in the convocation ceremony of SRKR College and presented gold medals to those excelling in studies. He inaugurated an Idea Lab and also interacted with the students.
In the afternoon, he took part in several programmes at Vishnu Educational Institutions.
Venkaiah Naidu also made a mention of the bad roads in the state. “I told my friend that I have to attend some programmes in Bhimavaram and he alerted me about the pathetic condition of the roads. “So, I had to travel in train to reach this place.”
Naidu said that he travelled in car from Vijayawada to Gudivada and then boarded a train to reach Bhimavaram. During my return journey too, I will travel in train till Gudivada and then go to Swarna Bharati Trust in a car.
